ECHO is looking for a Regional Service Manager to support our Industrial Products Equipment. (IPE) The Regional Service Manager candidate will be located in the Southeast and have experience in servicing commercial generators and welders. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 based on experience and qualifications. Frequent travel (approximately 75%) is required for this position. A company car will be provided.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose technical issues, provide solutions, and offer recommendations to customers using ECHO-branded generators and welding equipment.
- Establish and maintain a national network of service centers to support warranty claims and equipment repairs.
- Cultivate vendor relationships to ensure timely procurement of parts and accessories essential for daily service operations.
- Travel within the assigned territory to support customers with service needs, including training sessions as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Service Operations to address daily service requirements for national accounts and fleet customers.
- Identify and report product issues, implement service bulletins, manage field campaigns, and communicate results to ECHO and Yamabiko Corp.
- Partner with the training team to deliver instructional courses on the service and maintenance of ECHO-branded equipment.
- Stay current with regulations and standards related to portable power generation equipment and welding machines.
- Demonstrate equipment functionality and highlight product features and benefits at customer sites, including load bank testing when necessary.
- Provide accurate service estimates and price quotes for warranty and repair work.
- Estimate project completion timelines based on internal production and delivery schedules; assist with field stock delivery and manage related documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports on business activities and maintain expense records in compliance with company policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts at customer locations.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Participate in trade shows, assisting with setup and teardown of displays.
- Exercise sound judgment in customer interactions, expense reporting, and timely submission of documentation.
- Ensure 24/7 customer support availability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Experience/Skills:
- Prior experience in power generation and diesel engine mechanics is required, ideally in a senior service or service manager role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing clear reports and correspondence, and effectively communicating with groups of customers or employees.
- Proficient in performing calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts is essential.
- Skilled in solving practical problems and managing diverse variables in situations with minimal standardization. Able to interpret various forms of instructions, including written, verbal, diagrams, or schedules.
- Proficient in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), for communication, reporting, and data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of dealer operations, ideally within the construction or industrial sectors.
- At least 2 years of experience in service or warranty administration.
- Hands-on technical knowledge of diesel generators and welding equipment is required.
- Familiarity with electrical components, operational theory, and technical terminology is a plus.
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good typing proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be able to travel up to 75% within the U.S., with occasional international travel as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree.
