JOB TYPE: Full-Time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aspects of the role include geosteering, operational geology, well planning, post-drilling analysis, and working with engineering to increase efficiencies of operations program.
- Preparation of pre-drilling Geo-progs, Type logs, and structure maps to provide to operational team.
- Help QC survey plats, Geo-progs, directional plans, and permits to ensure consistent plans for the well prior to spud.
- Work closely with onsite mudloggers, geologists, and drilling engineers to maximize successful steering of horizontal wells.
- Monitor and provide proper documentation and records for all data derived from the drilling operations.
- Analyze and interpret offsetting operator and basin trends to optimize the internal development plans.
- Assist the Business Development team in analyzing prospective assets.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology
- 3 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with an operator with an active development program – MidCon experience is a plus
- Strong geosteering background in unconventional plays
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Petra, and StarSteer
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills
