We are seeking a Power Electonics Engineer Hands on Leader/Expert
The successful candidate will lead the design and technical analysis for battery energy storage, distributed energy resources (DER’s), and microgrid design and will work with our Energy team to understand the effects of renewable energy on a power system. In this role, you will provide designs for required relaying/metering, switchgear design, and specification of the system and design and plan electrical power systems for Data Center projects around the world.
10 years of experience with technical lead and design experience.
Able to lead pursuits and develop proposals.
Provide active project management on multidiscipline projects.
Electrical utility resilience planning and master planning.
Project design experience with at least two of the following
Commercial Photovoltaic (PV) solar design
Clean Fuel Cell (Hydrogen, Natural Gas, Biogas)
Clean Linear Generators (Non-Diesel)
Large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (Long-duration, BESS, sizing)
Microgrids utilizing relays and advanced control logic
Experience with an island microgrid not connected to the grid utility.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent industry experience.
A current Professional Engineering (PE) license is a big plus.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and financial incentives for alternative energy systems, especially ones related to DER integration with the utility.
Knowledge in REVIT and AutoCAD is a plus.
Familiarity with microgrid/DER analysis or control software.
Experience with short circuit/coordination/arc flash software.
Experience with designing Medium Voltage (2.4kV to 35 kV distribution), such as campus loops is a plus Tips: Provide a summary of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how this role fits into the organization overall.
