Professional Nurse

Position Overview:

• The primary purpose of this position is to provide nursing functions for patients served by an assertive community treatment team.
• Under the direction of the team psychiatrist, the nurse will provide management and supervision of medication administration to patients in their homes and other settings.
• Will provide case management services for an assigned group of patients, including planning, developing, and monitoring of services and supports as delineated in the patient's treatment plan.

Required Skills:

• Previous experience in a mental health setting.
• Skills and competence to establish trusting relationships with individuals and respect for their rights and personal preferences in treatment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with other staff from a variety of professions in the healthcare field.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness.
• Working knowledge of psychiatric medications and side effects to those medications.
• Previous employment on an ACT team.
