Custodian/Janitor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, including both routine cleaning tasks and specialized maintenance activities.

Duties

• Perform general custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and stripping as needed to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
• Assist with residential painting and touch-ups to enhance the aesthetic appeal of facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Execute commercial cleaning tasks in various settings, including offices, schools, and industrial environments.
• Carry out facilities maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to management.
• Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment, including buffing machines.
• Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
