**Executive Chef Role**
We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to helm the culinary operations of our upscale, independent restaurant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing dynamic seasonal menus, multi-course tasting menus, and featured items that showcase the freshest ingredients, steaks, and seafood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Development: Create unique and exciting cuisine that meets the high standards of our restaurant.
- Kitchen Leadership: Lead pre-shift communications and oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, consistency, check-times, and plating.
- Team Training: Train and develop kitchen staff on cooking techniques and presentation of food items.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the General Manager to maintain staff schedules and manage food & labor costs.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Oversee purchasing and inventory levels of food and supplies.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas.
Requirements:
- Culinary Arts Education: A culinary arts bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Restaurant Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a restaurant setting, with 2 years of management experience preferred.
- New Restaurant Opening: Experience with new restaurant openings is highly desirable.
**Work Environment:** Our restaurant features a fine dining atmosphere with a high-end bar and wine program. A flexible schedule is required, including weekend and holiday availability. Supplemental pay types include bonus pay.
**Location:** One location in Hattiesburg/Oak Grove, MS. Must plan to relocate or commute; relocation assistance is available.
