Executive Chef
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our upscale, independent restaurant's culinary operations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for developing innovative menus using fresh ingredients, steaks, and seafood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop dynamic seasonal menus, multi-course tasting menus, and featured items that showcase creativity and expertise.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including training and development of team members to maintain a culture of excellence.
- Lead pre-shift communications to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Direct kitchen staff in the preparation, consistency, check-times, and plating of food items to meet high standards.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to manage staff schedules and optimize food and labor costs.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory levels of food and supplies to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas, including food storage areas and equipment.
- Enforce restaurant standards for work attire, cleanliness, and grooming.
- Mentor team members to promote growth and career opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts (preferred).
- 5 years of restaurant experience, including 2 years of management experience (preferred).
- New restaurant openings or similar fast-paced environments (preferred).
Work Environment:
Fine dining restaurant with a high-end bar and wine program. Flexible schedule with weekend and holiday availability required.
