HOURLY RANGE : $42.36 - $58.44
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS : The work involves coordinating and directing financial, operational, and clinical performance of the Buffalo Rising Against Violence (BRAVE) Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) at Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC). The incumbent is responsible for expanding the TRC and troubleshooting issues, developing and maintaining donor / funder relationships and mutually beneficial community partnerships, representing the TRC to local, state, and federal government officials, and advocating for removal of barriers to care for patients on a system-wide level. Work is performed under the general direction of the Vice President of Systems and Integrated Care. Supervision is exercised over professional, paraprofessional and clerical employees. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES :
- Oversees TRC budget, finances, grant applications and reporting, and creates TRC policies and procedures, coordinating with appropriate staff as needed;
- Provides leadership and vision in the development and implementation of TRC clinical guidelines and care pathways;
- Provides general supervision and ensures efficient and effective program operations and quality services are maintained and provided in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines; provides a minimum of thirty (30) minutes monthly-bi-monthly case management supervision;
- Provides consultation on challenging patients, situations, problems and assists in clinical case management services utilizing trauma-informed, patient-focused interventions as needed;
- Assists in providing case management supervision for on-site emergencies, including de-escalation and containment of the emergency for staff as needed;
- Participates in and seeks out opportunities for program promotion, marketing, and philanthropy including community events, conferences, speaking engagements, media requests, and advocate website and social media communications;
- Monitors HIPPA compliance programmatically;
- Provides performance evaluations to senior staff members, identifying areas of growth, areas of strength, and plans for improvement and remediation;
- Assists in development of policies and procedures with leadership staff to direct clinical practice
- Prepares and delivers presentations, conducts trainings or continuing education activities for professionals, consumers, graduate trainees, stakeholders, and relevant others;
- Collaborates with funding sources to ensure continued support and generates new sources of financial support;
- Advocates on a system-wide level to remove barriers to accessing care for BRAVE participants;
- Develops and maintains community partnerships and regularly engages stakeholders to facilitate collaboration between BRAVE TRC and Buffalo SNUG (GUNS spelled backwards);
- Prepares various reports for the TRC;
- Participates in meetings, trainings, in-services, committees, community activities, and professional development as appropriate and reports on all activities and collaborates on issues that have arisen.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS : Thorough knowledge of current principles, techniques and ethical standards as they relate to evidence-based practices for diagnosis, evaluation and comprehensive treatment for victims of trauma; thorough knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and accreditation standards as they relate to social work practice at BRAVE TRC and ECMCC; working knowledge of research activities in clinical education; ability to supervise, evaluate and organize the work of lower-level staff; ability to support expansion of the TRC through fiscal management and partnering with community and government leaders; ability to prepare clear and concise reports, including grant applications; ability to develop program goals, objective and long-term plans; ability to work with applicable staff in the budget development process; ability to work with applicable staff in evaluating budget performance; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to set and meet deadlines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse constituency; ability to utilize a variety of electronic software applications; sound professional judgment; organized; reliable; capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Possession of a Master's Degree
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Section 424-A of the Social Services Law requires that local social services district to inquire whether the applicant is the subject of an indicated child abuse or maltreatment report on file with the State Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. All potential employees for this position will be requested to sign the necessary clearance form prior to being advised that they will be hired. Refusal to sign will be cause for automatic non-selection.
