We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our salon team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a knack for time management and efficiency. This role is perfect for someone who can multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of our front desk and keep the salon experience running seamlessly. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an essential role in setting the tone for a positive, welcoming, and professional salon environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting & Welcoming Clients: Be the first friendly face clients see when they walk through the door, offering a warm greeting and assisting with coats, refreshments (such as making clients coffee), and introducing them to their stylists.
- Scheduling & Appointment Management: Answer calls, schedule appointments, and ensure the schedule is organized and flowing smoothly. Ensure that there is always enough time between appointments for transitions and timely service.
- Social Media: Take pictures of finished hairstyles and other salon highlights to be posted on social media platforms, helping to promote the salon’s work and keep the online presence fresh.
- Time Management & Efficiency: Be proactive and find tasks to do when the salon is not busy, such as updating client information, restocking supplies, cleaning, or assisting stylists as needed.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the front desk and waiting area always clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Cash Management: Ensure there is always adequate change in the drawer, handle transactions accurately, and provide receipts as necessary.
- Professionalism: Be punctual, professional, and always dressed in a manner that reflects the salon’s image. As the face of the salon, you will set the standard for client interaction.
Requirements:
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills: Must be personable, approachable, and professional with every client interaction.
- Phone Etiquette: Ability to answer calls promptly and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Basic Administrative Skills: Experience with accounts payable/receivable and basic office duties such as filing, making notes, and handling small cash transactions.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient with basic computer programs (Word, Excel) and salon scheduling software. Familiarity with QuickBooks for accounting tasks is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure that appointments stay on schedule and all tasks are completed accurately.
- Social Media Savvy: Comfortable taking and uploading photos of salon work for social media promotion.
