Staff Accountant

Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and executing a comprehensive range of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial forecasting, balance sheet maintenance, profit and loss statements, account reconciliation, and financial projections. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records while providing insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processing
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, including customer billing, collections, and revenue recognition
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet accounts and profit and loss statements
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts and projections to support business planning
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
• Identify and implement process improvements for accounting operations
• Support audit requirements and provide documentation as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
