Position Overview:
The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for planning all work orders for scheduling, for planning in the space of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, civil, facilities, infrastructure and other non-instrument/electrical equipment.
What you will be doing:
- Determines estimated hours, crafts, crew size, permits, outside services, special tools & equipment requirements for planned jobs.
- Leads the daily morning Maintenance Schedule meeting and the weekly work order backlog scheduling meeting with Operations.
- Manages work order backlog in accordance to planning and scheduling metrics.
- Walks down jobs and develops bill of materials and job scope, estimate manpower needs.
- Determines and procures equipment parts, repairs standards, outside services, estimated hours, crafts, crew size, special tools & equipment requirements for planned jobs. Provides necessary drawings for jobs (may be drawn with craft time or given by engineering), ensures drawings are revised & current (return revised changes to engineering).
- Provide technical input on capital projects and /or equipment specifications.
- Participate in weekly production planning meetings to ensure an integrated coordination of maintenance priorities.
- Backup for the Maintenance Supervisor when they are out of office.
- Ensures notification of a change so the MOC process is followed on all changes.
- Participate in causal investigations with Engineering for root cause determination.
- Confers with Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Engineers and Equipment Care Coordinator to ensure necessary PMs, Repairs/Replacements, etc. are scheduled and completed to ensure equipment and process reliability.
- Communicates with vendors or shops to view products and literature or to monitor off-site equipment repairs.
HEALTH, SAFETY, & ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all contractors doing work in the plant have the required HS&E safety training prior to performing maintenance work or repairs.
- Submits any safety concerns/incidents electronically for review, investigation and resolution of risk.
- Participates as needed on the safety audit team to monitor and improve safety within the plant.
Required Qualifications:
- Min 5 plus years’ experience as a maintenance Supervisor, maintenance Specialist, maintenance Planner in a chemical plant or refinery is required
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient using SAP as the CMMS platform
