The Role

We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team at Extrusion Automation, LLC. You will travel to client sites across North America to ensure our plastics film extrusion machinery operates at peak performance. Please note, candidates can be located anywhere in the US near a major airport, this can be a remote position with up to 75% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start up and commission new equipment at client sites.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including VFDs, PLCs, and sensors.
- Perform scheduled maintenance visits and warranty repairs.
- Train client maintenance personnel on proper equipment use and care.
- Follow company procedures and ensure adherence to safety policies.
- Help manage spare parts inventory to support installations and repairs effectively.

The Person
We are looking for someone who has:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required); a two- or four-year degree in mechanical trade, programming, or electrical engineering is preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing machinery issues.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to travel up to 75%.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with film extrusion manufacturing machinery or maintenance in a similar facility.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical and/or Electrical.
