The Role

Can you inspire a congregation through worship and music? If so, we are looking for a Gospel Music Director to lead and develop our contemporary gospel music program.
The Gospel Music Director will provide music leadership for worship services, leading both congregational singing and a worship team. You will be responsible for selecting and preparing music, training choir members, and coordinating with the chaplain and church staff to ensure a high standard of musical worship.

This is a part-time contract 1099 vacancy. Contract= TBD, 5 Hours per week.

Position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and direct all music for worship services, including prelude, postlude, and special events.
- Select and prepare music for services in consultation with the chaplain.
- Provide written lists of music selections at least one month in advance.
- Organize and conduct weekly rehearsals for the choir and worship team.
- Recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists.
- Order and distribute sheet music while ensuring copyright compliance.
- Operate and manage the chapel’s sound system.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and church leadership.
- Arrange for a suitable substitute when unavailable.
