DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Gospel Music Director. The Gospel Music Director shall provide for a comprehensive contemporary music ministry and associated programming, including all necessary music direction, vocally leading congregational singing, musically leading a worship team, and necessary advertising coordinated with the responsible chaplain or chapel administrative staff for Gospel worship service.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess the ability to read or sight-read music and lead choral and congregational singing.
- The ability to work in collaboration with volunteers, and the chaplain assigned to the Gospel worship service in the rehearsal and performance of music, including the solicitation of players of other musical instruments, as well as vocalists.
- Possess an understanding of Gospel music and see music as integral to the celebration of the rites of the Church; be able to foster participation in those rites through song; and possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Possess and maintain a balanced repertoire (traditional to contemporary) and be well-grounded in developing Gospel worship music and liturgical rubrics.
- Must have a mature command of speaking, writing, and reading the English language.
