ECS is seeking a Cell Biology/Bioengineering/Biotechnology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team as a Technical System Engineer and Technical Advisor (SETA) and support an ARPA-H Program Manager developing breakthrough biological, material, and processing technologies to enable the preservation of cells at non-cryogenic temperatures. This is a remote position supporting a Program Manager in the Eastern Time Zone.

These SETA duties include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team that will develop breakthrough biological, material, and processing technologies to enable the preservation of cells at non-cryogenic temperatures.
- Utilize both internal and external resources to support technical and programmatic goals.
- Develop and provide sub-domain subject matter expertise as needed.
- Perform market and regulatory analyses, technical due diligence, literature reviews and generate briefing documents summarizing technical topics related to cell and gene therapies, biomanufacturing, cell preservation, anhydrobiosis, and other natural adaptations to stress.
- Evaluate technical proposals for scientific merit and innovation. Provide feedback, organize reviewer comments, draft recommendations and project summaries, and presentation materials.
- Develop technical and administrative programmatic documentation on short timelines to communicate technical approach, progress, cost, schedule and risk for advanced technology development efforts.
Requirements:
- A PhD with 2 years, MS with 5 years or a BA with 7 years is acceptable.
- A strong foundational understanding of cell biology or bioengineering and a high comfort level with new biotechnologies.
- Team oriented with exceptional communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Experience with bioassays to evaluate biological activity and function.
