ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H—enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As a Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Division of Legislative and Governmental Affairs (DLGI).
What you will do:
Serve as an Intergovernmental Expert:
- Conduct comprehensive research on non-HHS funded programs and initiatives across government agencies to perform crosswalk analyses with ARPA-H programs to uncover synergies, avoid redundancies, and optimize collaborative opportunities.
- Monitor federal, state, and local legislative and policy developments to assess potential impacts on ARPA-H programs.
Manage Strategic Communication Support:
- Draft briefing materials, policy summaries, memos, talking points, and presentations to facilitate informed decision-making and support senior ARPA-H leadership in interagency engagements.
- Identify and monitor intergovernmental policy developments and summarize key findings into actionable insights for senior ARPA-H leadership, stakeholders, and relevant project teams to inform strategy.
Stay current with scientific advancements:
- Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
- Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.
- Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.
Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:
- Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $150,000
