ECS is seeking a Communications Specialist to work in a hybrid role based in Washington, DC with at least 1 day in the office.
You will support in planning, implementing, and evaluating federal communications programs. This individual will be responsible for supporting targeted communications campaigns and deliverables in support of innovation within VA's health care delivery system. The successful candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and creative with strong written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of communications strategies for VHA.
- Create targeted communications campaigns spanning social media, media relations, email marketing, marketing one-pagers, and related communication channels.
- Develop a wide range of written communications collateral, product campaigns, including social media posts, press releases, website content, email copy, articles, talking points, and related messaging.
- Effectively and professionally engage with all project stakeholders and explain complex systems in plain language.
- Support communications analytics using native social media and paid media monitoring software.
- Prepare progress reports and client briefings.
- 5 years of experience in a strategic communications role developing program-level plans and project-specific artifacts (internship experience qualifies).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in the full communications lifecycle – from planning through implementation and evaluation.
- Experience crafting a range of communications materials, including communications plans, fact sheets, website content, and email marketing that are high quality and free of errors.
- Familiarity with AP style and plain language.
- Strong consulting and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
- Outstanding writing skills, and experience developing and editing high-quality written materials.
