ECS is seeking a skilled PowerBuilder Developer to join our team on the Core Financial Services Program at Gunter AFB, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications using PowerBuilder to support the General Accounting and Finance System Reengineered (GAFS-R), Standard Materiel Accounting System (SMAS), and Integrated Accounts Payable System (IAPS) on site. The PowerBuilder Developer will work closely with the development team to analyze business requirements, design specifications, and develop software solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development:
- Develop software applications using PowerBuilder to support GAFS-R, SMAS, and IAPS.
- Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as payroll, logistics, and contracts.
- Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts to visualize system architecture.
- Translate detailed design into computer software using PowerBuilder.
- Testing and Debugging:
- Test and debug software applications to ensure they meet business requirements and are free from errors.
- Identify and report defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
- Documentation:
- Prepare required program-level and user-level documentation to support software applications.
- Develop user manuals, technical documentation, and other documentation as required.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the development team, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure software applications meet business requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve software quality.
- UNIX and SMAS Integration:
- Integrate PowerBuilder applications with UNIX systems and SMAS.
- Troubleshoot issues related to UNIX and SMAS integration.
- PL/SQL and Database Development:
- Develop PL/SQL scripts to support GAFS-R, SMAS, and IAPS.
- Design and develop databases to support software applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of PowerBuilder and its ecosystem.
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, Java, and UNIX.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
