What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Destructive Testing Field Internship position at ECS Group of Companies?
- Working in the field to experience the applications of NDT in the construction material testing industry
- Performing daily set up and calibrations of NDT equipment, under the supervision of a Level II or Level III
- Performing tests on materials in accordance with written procedures to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using various NDT methods, under the supervision of a Level II or Level III
- Reading and interpreting structural and shop drawings, part schematics and job specifications.
- Preparing field reports, NDT reports, and sketches.
- Observing and participate in other materials inspection methods (i.e., Timber Framing, High Strength Bolting, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Reinforced Concrete) as deemed necessary
- Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nondestructive Testing or Materials Engineering with a focus on NDT
- Completed classroom training for at least one of the volumetric methods: either Radiography or Ultrasound
- Ability to obtain Level I Certifications in one or more of the following methods: Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
