ECU Health Physicians is multi-specialty group with over 600 providers in more than 140 primary and specialty clinics across more than 110 locations in eastern North Carolina.
Position Summary
- This position is required to understand the unique clinical needs of each specialty and partner with the division chief and Department Outpatient Medical Director to ensure clinical operations with the outpatient clinic represent best practice, top of license work and efficient clinic flow.
- The position is over both Imaging and Lab services since they are key in ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities
The Department of Cardiovascular Sciences includes seven separate divisions: General Cardiology, Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery.
The department also has outpatient lab performing complex laboratory tests and imaging center. Imaging Center offers complex testing including CT scans, Nuclear Testing, complex vascular imaging, echocardiography, and chest X-rays.
There are over fifty-one physicians and eighteen Advanced Practice Providers practicing in this department. There are over fifty clinical staff, twenty-two radiology staff and thirty patient access services team members.
This role is responsible for all clinical operations in the department. The complexity is due to the variety of specialists in this one department and the Imaging/Lab.
This position is required to understand the unique clinical needs of each specialty and partner with the division chief and Department Outpatient Medical Director to ensure clinical operations with the outpatient clinic represent best practice, top of license work and efficient clinic flow. Oversees both Imaging and Lab services since they are key in ensuring efficient clinic operations.
This position serves on variety of hospital committees to ensure smooth transition for patients being scheduled for procedures at the medical center.
In addition, the role ensures outreach clinic in Goldsboro is staffed and patient needs are addressed.
Manager, Radiology Division supervises Imaging Center/Lab. Also responsible for ensuring all regulatory accreditation standards are met.
2 Nurse Managers-one over the Surgery clinics and other manages all the cardiology specialties.
Research Nurse Specialist who is responsible for the Society Thoracic Surgery database
Research Manager who manages all clinical research in department which is conducted in the clinic and medical center.
Advanced Practice Professionals (18) which cover all divisions and Imaging Center
Over eighty clinical staff indirectly report to this position through the above listed managers.
Partners with regional administrator, department chairman and division chiefs to ensure smooth clinical operations across ambulatory and hospital environments. The division chiefs in this department are responsible for ensuring Eastern North Carolina patients have access to the latest procedures/interventions. The position serves as their clinical partner in starting new programs.
This position serves as clinical leader/project manager to ensure integration of legacy VMG into ECHI building in February 2025 is successful. This involves assignment of exam rooms, oversight of construction, working with nurse managers to ensure staffing is adequate, oversight of staff and provider integration etc.
Partners with regional administrator to ensure clinical services offered in ECHI are reimbursed at highest level possible. This includes but is not limited to all lab, imaging services and any medications administered in the clinic.
This position also ensures staff is educated and held accountable for all ambulatory quality measures. This oversight ensures ECU Health Physicians obtains maximum reimbursement from payors.
Minimum Requirements
- An appropriately accredited Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in nursing and four years of nursing experience which includes two years of experience in a supervisory role or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Master's in nursing or related degree is preferred
