Position Description:
Lead and coordinate the Manufacturing Operations Control team in South Holland. Offer strategic guidance by establishing objectives and determining priorities for the team, fostering an environment that encourages ongoing enhancements in production, operations, and variance insights. Additionally, drive the streamlining of production information verification and inventory transactions to enhance overall efficiency. The position involves collaboration with diverse operational functions and extends to interaction with managers beyond the operational realm. Develop and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives for both the South Holland and Carrollton production facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Operations Control (South Holland)
- Develop metrics and KPI’s that lead to increased accuracy in production orders and reporting as well as improving the timeliness of closing production orders.
- Work with the production team and provide recommendations and procedures to drive continuous improvement in production paperwork, inclusive of heightening the accountability with the production supervisors and/or line leads.
- Identify potential technology investments to help expedite the flow and increase the accuracy of production information on the floor.
- Evaluate production reporting and ensure its accuracy and that it aligns with financial reporting and provide recommendations to simplify the reports that are used. Work with IT to ensure all reports are in sync and they provide consistent information.
- Provide training and support to Manufacturing Operations Control staff to ensure proper execution of database information and analysis.
- Participate and adhere to food safety and employee safety programs and policies.
- Guide the enforcement of systems, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
Continuous Improvement (South Holland and Carrollton)
- Develop, maintain and audit production processes against engineered standards. Report against and challenge status quo performance against these standards.
- Use production data to identify and continuously improve production processes, equipment, and performance; and submit proposals, including recommendations that will influence productivity, product improvements, improved efficiency standards, and labor utilization.
- Lead projects that improve our core business with yield improvements, cost reductions, improved efficiencies and product yields using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology.
- Lead and/or manage the execution and sustainability of Kaizen events for a full business unit that improve the fundamental flow in the organizations processes, systems and structures.
- Guide the design and development of visual controls to monitor KPIs in Operations.
- Identify, support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events to improve in the areas of production variances, production order efficiency, inventory control and material usage.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
- Maintains staff by orienting and training employees on company rules, safety, and job functions.
- Coaches, counsels, motivates, and carries out discipline.
- Resolves personnel issues in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
- Enforces systems, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Monitors and processes employee attendance records/timecards and PTO in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or finance/Accounting.
- 3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience or in a related field.
- Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving aptitudes.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of data visualization and analysis tools such a Tableau (Red Zone), Power BI, etc.
