Summary of Major Functions:  
Provide and maintain structure for all treatment programs as needed.  Services include facilitating meals and meal processing, documentation, and encouraging a therapeutic milieu with the abstinence of eating disorder behaviors.  If deemed competent, service will also include conducting (or co-facilitating) psycho-educational groups,

Duties and Responsibilities:    
1.    Demonstrate knowledge of and practice of effective counseling skills.
2.    Facilitate meals with patients in a fashion consistent with the treatment philosophy of EDCare; eat and model appropriate eating behaviors during assigned mealtimes with patients.
3.    Contribute clinical information and observations about patients in weekly staffing.
4.    Thoroughly integrate new patients into the program via orientation, demonstrating knowledge of all aspects of the clinical program.
5.    Hold strong personal boundaries while building therapeutic rapport.
6.    Facilitate groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process, when deemed appropriate and competent by Program Director.
7.    Utilize creativity in therapeutic interventions to maintain a safe, supportive, clinically sound milieu.
8.    Be present and available for patient requests and needs; provide outreach to patients when necessary.
9.    Maintain daily program structure.
10.    Conduct check-ins and check-outs with patients.
11.    Supports  therapeutic outings.
12.    Fulfill Milieu On Duties (MOD), updating teams with Pass updates, self harm or SI concerns, pass down reports. etc.
13.    Complete clinical paperwork in a timely and accurate manner:  progress notes, group notes etc.
14.    Ensure completion of daily attendance sheet for billing purposes.
15.    Take responsibility for opening and/or closing the facility.
16.     Participates in training of new milieu staff and students, when deemed appropriate and competent by Program Director.
17.    Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
18.    Other job duties as assigned. 
 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1.    Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field required.
2.    Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnoses preferred.
3.    Treatment orientation and approach that aligns with that of EDCare preferred.  
4.    Good oral and written communication skills preferred

Computer Skills:
1.    Must be able to effectively maneuver within an office scheduling system.
2.    Minimum of intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
3.    Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.

Physical Demands and Environment:
Physical demands of this job include but are NOT limited to:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking occasionally, hearing constantly, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately.  This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:
95% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a neighborhood home environment.
