We are looking for a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team and oversee the strategic sourcing of critical components, including castings, machining, and fabrications, across multiple office locations.
Position Overview:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process for EDDY Pump’s industrial equipment. This includes sourcing and negotiating contracts for castings, machining, and fabrication services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient operation of the procurement function across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with ERP systems (preferably Epicor) and managing complex supply chains for industrial products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of critical components such as castings, machined parts, and fabricated products.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with company goals and budgets.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating long-term agreements and ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality materials.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, including lead time, quality control, and pricing reviews.
- Resolve supplier issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain.
- ERP Management:
- Oversee and optimize procurement workflows using the company’s ERP system, preferably Epicor.
- Ensure accurate data entry, maintain up-to-date supplier records, and monitor inventory levels to align with production needs.
- Work closely with the finance and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes with other business functions.
- Cross-Location Coordination:
- Manage procurement activities across multiple office locations, ensuring that supply chain operations are consistent and efficient company-wide.
- Coordinate with department managers, engineers, and production teams to align procurement strategies with company objectives at different sites.
- Cost Control & Optimization:
- Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve vendor performance, and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that streamline procurement operations and improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure that all purchases meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a procurement team, providing guidance and support in vendor management, negotiation tactics, and ERP system use.
- Ensure the team adheres to best practices in procurement and supply chain management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the industrial equipment or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts for castings, machining, and fabrication services.
- Experience managing procurement operations across multiple office or manufacturing locations.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, castings, machining processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) for procurement and supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Epicor ERP system or similar.
- Background in industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or related manufacturing industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
