This role is accountable for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic development of the Ultrasonic Sensors business unit, which operates globally with a focus on both catalog products and custom solutions. The Director is responsible for aligning the team's strong technical expertise with a market- and customer-driven approach, supporting commercial development, product management, and operational coordination.
The Director will lead a team of approximately 15 Application Engineers with specialized knowledge in sensor technology, guiding them to enhance customer engagement, develop commercial insight, and improve overall efficiency.

As Director Applications – UT Sensor, you will have to:
Organizational Leadership
- Evaluate and improve organizational structure and workflows to enhance team efficiency and business performance.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, cross-functional team with a focus on technical excellence, customer responsiveness, and commercial impact.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate cross-departmental problem solving to resolve bottlenecks and ensure alignment.
- Define objectives, assess performance, drive talent development, and manage recruitment as needed.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for inquiries related to standard and custom UT sensor requests.
- Analyze incoming requests for new application projects in collaboration with internal experts to assess feasibility and requirements.
- Support sales managers, channel partners, and customers by providing technical and commercial guidance for solution development.
- Approve or delegate approval for custom project quotations and delivery commitments.
- Lead regular reviews of active projects and customer opportunities.
- Drive initiatives to simplify product configuration, quoting processes, and response times.
- Support engagement with key accounts and manage complex opportunities directly when needed.
In collaboration with Product Management and Marketing:
- Set quarterly and annual performance targets for revenue, margin, and operational metrics for the UT sensor line.
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to guide strategic roadmap and planning.
- Track key performance indicators across financial, operational, and customer-facing functions.
- Support the development of commercial training for technical staff.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives to increase visibility of catalog products and generate inbound leads.
- Act as the main liaison between the Applications team and key stakeholders including Product Management, Sales, Operations, and UT Technology leadership.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of both standard and customized transducers.
- Prioritize and manage customization projects in alignment with engineering and production teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, electrical, mechanical, or physics engineering, or other relevant fields. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing or related industries, preferably in ultrasound technology.
- Proven experience in team leadership.
- Solid background in technical sales support within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Results-oriented with attention to detail.
- Capable of coaching engineers and resolving complex technical challenges.
- Change agent with strategic thinking and hands-on execution capabilities.
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
