The Vice President, Compensation and Benefits is a key leadership role within the Human Resources department, as EFE works to Amplify Our People and Culture. The VP is responsible for the strategy and administration of our compensation, benefits, and equity programs that help us be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining strong talent. The VP will lead a team and partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and other HR leaders and their teams. This role reports directly to the Chief People Officer.
Responsibilities:
Compensation and Benefits
- Develop, implement and manage competitive and equitable compensation, benefits, and equity programs
- Oversee market analysis, benchmarking, and trend identification
- Champion, design and oversee the design and ongoing administration of market competitive variable compensation plans
- Lead the creation of employee communications about compensation and benefit programs, ensuring they are easily understood and incentivize performance
- Identify industry best practices and emerging trends to identify opportunities to improve existing programs and processes
Team Leadership
- Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing and engaged team, including the performance of work when support is needed.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, curiosity, continuous improvement, and customer focus
- Develop and utilize metrics to track the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs, benefits service delivery, and the support provided to employees. Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on compensation and benefits matters to stakeholders that support our talent strategy, drive business results, and align with our culture
- Effectively collaborate on, and communicate, program changes and updates
Vendor Management:
- Oversee relationships with vendors providing compensation and benefits services
- Ensure service levels and deadlines are met and work remains within budget
- Identify opportunities to change vendors, services from existing vendors, and participate in RFP processes
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits, with 5 years in leadership.
- Deep understanding of compensation and benefits principles, practices, regulations, and trends; able to apply that understand to develop creative solutions.
- Experience in, and strong understanding of, the investment management industry, and in salaried and variable compensation programs.
- Proven ability to design and administer market competitive variable compensation plans (both discretionary and sales plans).
- Ability to break down complex compensation concepts and educate stakeholders and employees of all levels, experiences, and prior compensation knowledge
- Experience administering pre-IPO equity programs.
- Possesses detail focus especially in their experience in preparing compensation committee board materials.
- Track record of managing multi-state Benefit and Leave of Absence programs
