Communications Specialist

Edelson PC, a nationally recognized plaintiff's firm, is seeking an in-house Communications Specialist to join us in our Chicago office. At Edelson, we take a creative approach to communications and PR that sets us apart from other firms. Through attention-grabbing tactics like music videos and parodies, we bring a unique flair to raising awareness about legal issues and the work of our trailblazing attorneys. As our new Communications Specialist, you'll help implement an innovative strategy that leverages unexpected mediums to drive brand recognition and meaningful industry reform. Responsibilities:

• Craft and refine press releases, social media posts, and other communication materials
• Monitor developments within the firm and the broader legal landscape, drafting and providing timely internal communications
• Assist in executing the firm’s press strategy, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging
• Engage with various media outlets and platforms to promote the firm’s work and achievements
• Contribute to the development of communication strategies and marketing materials

Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear and compelling content under tight deadlines
• Prior experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the legal sector, or high stakes environments
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to support and collaborate within the Communications Department and with other teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
