INTRODUCTION
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior DSP-Medical Support Floater, who will provide support to Residential & Day Programs by coordinating and attending clinical appointments for Eden Participants to meet their medical needs, to include maintaining files, report writing, regular communication with staff/parents/medical professionals, and maintaining a medical calendar. This position is 8 am – 4 pm / 9 am – 5 pm, but does require flexibility as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and Clinical Support
- Assist with scheduling and conduct medical/dental appointments, testing, treatments, and follow-up as assigned.
- Assist in documentation of medication changes and communication with program staff.
- Coordinate change to ISP if applicable
- Provide necessary materials to program staff and assist with implementation on outcomes, special needs and specialized diets.
- Review tracking documentation of specialized diets and special conditions
- Reviewing documentation for quality and consistency across programs
- Maintain all adaptive equipment for participants.
- Assist with planning, paperwork and completion of flu, vision, and health screenings/clinics
- Assist with scheduling blood work for at home blood draws
- Provide support and Supervision for participants during hospital stays and when then need to stay home from day program.
Report Writing and Administration
- Assist in maintaining participants’ files including medical, dental, and prescriptions.
- Dispense/oversee medication administration and documentation.
- Complete and submit Therap data and behavioral, clinical, medical paperwork as necessary.
- Assist with maintenance of RXs and documentation
- Relay appointment outcomes with all internal Eden parties involved (eg. Health team, clinical team, and program) via email, Therap, etc…
Communication/Meetings
- Maintain responsive, professional and proactive communication with doctors and colleagues.
- Provide communication to the day and residential programs when appointments are scheduled.
- Attend House meetings with house staff as needed or requested.
- Attend monthly Medical Team Meetings
- Attend Bi- Monthly meetings with Supervisor
- Notify management and/or the Director of Residential Services immediately of any situation which compromises the safe and effective operation of Adult Services and the participants it serves.
- Cooperate with Eden Autism Services and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection or investigation.
Transportation
- Reserve vehicles for use as needed for appointments.
- Drive participants to and from clinical appointments as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Social Services, Health, or related field is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of direct care work experience, preferably with developmentally disabled individuals
- Minimum of six (6) months demonstrating consistent performance in medical responsibilities
Training and Other Responsibilities: Must complete and pass Entry Level Training and Professional Crisis Management Training, along with DDD required trainings, valid driver’s licensing is required with good standing (less than 5 points)

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time during the work day, including bending, squatting, kneeling, stretching and stooping; and reaching above shoulder level.
- Vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to utilize and maintain physical restraints with participants as needed.
- Mobility to ensure the safety of participants at all times.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with ISPs including development and implementation.
- Ability to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of applied behavioral analysis.
- Proven commitment to helping individuals with autism and their families and willingness to support the organization’s mission and growth.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure organizational compliance with contractual and regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups, both internally and externally.
- Strong ability to analyze an issue or problem and make recommendations for an effective and efficient resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service on a consistent basis.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.
