The functional areas and responsibilities of a Civil Project Engineer are as follows :
- Design and develop a variety of transportation and public works infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, intersections, drainage systems, sidewalks, and other public facilities.
- Perform complex geometric design calculations for horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Prepare detailed construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate closely with utility providers to identify and resolve potential conflicts during design and construction.
- Update and maintain as-built records and mappings to accurately reflect project outcomes.
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, other engineers, and public stakeholders to ensure projects meet community needs and align with a broader vision.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Supervise certain construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from government agencies and public utility providers.
