Eden is seeking a highly skilled and strategic VP of Finance to join our team and help drive our financial growth and operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly growing eCommerce business focused on improving America's metabolic health. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in eCommerce, retail, or technology sectors. You’ll work closely with our executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with our business goals, ensuring liquidity and business continuity while driving decision-making with data.

Compensation at Eden will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Eden has identified the expected annual base salary range for this role: $165,000 to $250,500

Your Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning with business goals. Partner with the executive team to drive financial planning, growth initiatives, and operational efficiency.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes. Manage cash flow, financial risks, and funding requirements to ensure liquidity and business continuity. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and drive decision-making.
- Accounting & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Manage internal controls, audits, and tax compliance processes. Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions.
- eCommerce-Specific Expertise: Analyze eCommerce metrics, such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), average order value (AOV), and cart abandonment rates, to inform financial decisions. Understand payment processing systems, revenue recognition, and fraud prevention.
- Operational Oversight: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, operations, and technology) to improve margins and efficiency. Optimize inventory management and cost control for products and logistics.
- Leadership & Team Building: Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Systems & Technology: Implement and maintain financial systems, ERP platforms, and analytics tools. Leverage automation and technology to streamline financial processes.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Prepare presentations and reports for board meetings and fundraising efforts.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Handle rapid growth and scalability challenges in a fast-paced eCommerce environment. Adapt to changes in consumer behavior, market trends, and technological advancements.
What You Bring to Eden
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within eCommerce, retail, or technology sectors.
- You continuously apply the 10x principles to identify and execute opportunities that will result in exponential growth for Eden, using innovative strategies and proactive decision-making.
- You are well-versed in developing and implementing financial strategies that directly contribute to revenue growth and scaling the business. You are keen on setting ambitious goals and tracking progress to ensure continuous improvement toward achieving more significant results.
- You take full ownership of financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You empower your team by making informed decisions, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of ownership across all financial functions.
- You understand and prioritize customer needs in the development of financial models and forecasts and you use insights from financial data to make decisions that support an exceptional customer experience, from pricing strategies to payment processes.
- You are comfortable working closely with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations, and technology) to ensure financial strategies are aligned with company goals, improving margins, and optimizing customer-facing processes.
- You continuously seek innovative approaches to optimize financial systems, using automation and technology to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
