Edge Building Solutions is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team to help us monitor our current operations and to ensure our organization is as efficient as possible. The Process Engineer will play a key role developing and maintaining manufacturing standards, bill of materials, and routings. This role will also be involved in designing production layouts and processes that increase productivity, eliminate wastefulness, and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards within the organization. The position will serve as the liaison between internal and external resources to move the business forward.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop Manufacturing standards for labor, material, and other costs.·
- Develop and maintain Bill of Materials and Routings in our ERP system.
- Design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
- Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
- Drives process mapping, time study analysis, resource consumption, and idle capacity drivers to support accurate cost and variance assignment.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
- Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
- Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and cost management principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience with ERP systems.
- IT programming and reporting skills a plus.
- Thorough understanding of ergonomics, supply chain, and applicable industry standards.
- Ability to effectively organize presentations to demonstration options and recommendations for proposed changes. Must be able to present this information in written and oral form.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
Travel:
- Limited travel is required for this position (less than 25%).
Physical Requirements:
- This position is not physically demanding, it requires sitting or standing for long periods of time, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to operate a computer and telephone.
