Summary
The Estimator/Procurement Specialist plays a key role in developing precise and comprehensive estimates for landscape projects by analyzing project scopes, specifications, and related documentation to prepare competitive cost and revenue proposals. This position is vital to ensuring profitability, client satisfaction, and the upholding of EdgeForm’s commitment to excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Account Managers to identify labor, material, and time requirements for projects by reviewing and analyzing project-related documents.
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to identify and confirm costs.
- Prepare comprehensive cost analyses, including labor, materials, and time estimates.
- Complete and organize job packages efficiently while adhering to company procedures.
- Manage materials, including tagging inventory in the yard, identifying buy-ins, and coordinating with the Purchasing department as needed.
- Assist with scheduling and securing all job-related resources once contracts are signed, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and utility markouts.
- Monitor and update project contracts daily to capture all additions and changes, ensuring profitability through accurate tracking of buy-ins, time and materials (T&M), and inventoried items.
- Maintain consistent communication with Account Managers to relay all relevant project information to clients.
- High school diploma or equivilant
- Proven experience in landscape construction estimation or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, construction methods, materials, and plant types.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape design plans and blueprints.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical and mathematical proficiency with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certification in estimating (e.g., AACE, ASPE).
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Experience in project management and scheduling.
