Our Orthopedic Nurse Navigator reports to our Inpatient Department Manager and performs the following duties to support Edgerton Hospital:
- Coordinates care as the single point of contact/resource for patients, staff, and providers.
- Acts as a resource to the patient, caregivers, staff, and providers.
- Navigates the patient through the preoperative and the hospital stay, tracking outcomes, and transitioning the patient back to the home environment.
- Direct patient care expected as necessary.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse with orthopedic background is preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Wisconsin as a registered nurse in good standing.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- ACLS certification within one year of hire
SPECIAL SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Works in a clinic and inpatient patient environments with appropriate technological support.
- Participates in marketing events and promotion of the orthopedic service line.
- Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm manner.
- Requires decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills.
