Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Accounting Assistant 4 (Certified Welding Inspector) opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain “Q” clearance and HRP.
Duration of job: 6 Month
Summary
The Controller Division is seeking to hire a highly motivated, energetic, and customer-focused Accounting Assistant 4 to support the Controller Payroll Benefits and Accounting (CNTL-PBA) Group. Reporting to the CNTL-PBA Group Leader, the selected candidate will be responsible for union time and effort data entry, verification, customer service (emails & phone), and electronic filing.
The role requires occasional work outside normal hours, accuracy, strong analytical and time management skills, independence, problem-solving ability, a strong work ethic, and a proven record of meeting deadlines and excellent attendance.
Experience & Technical Skills
Position requires a minimum of 3 years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education may be expected, such as college level business courses.

Experience & Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electronic timekeeping systems, LANL craft payroll processes, and financial concepts.
- Strong numerical accuracy and ability to perform arithmetic operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email) and familiarity with financial software or ERP systems.
- Understanding of confidentiality and handling of personally identifiable information (PII).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear information exchange.
- Strong organizational skills to manage priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Effective team player with a willingness to support others and take on new tasks.
- Ability to provide guidance, training, and mentorship to departmental staff when required.
- This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
