Busser/Food Runner

We are looking for an experienced Busser & Food Runner to join our team and deliver outstanding service across our new dining venues. In this role, you will ensure prompt and courteous service to members and guests, acting as the liaison between the kitchen and servers.

*Weekend and holiday availability is required.

As a Busser & Food Runner at Edgewood Country Club, you will be responsible for:

• Arriving to shift on time; if unable to work, informing supervisor as soon as possible
• Wearing proper work attire, including uniform, shoes, nametag and apron
• Attending required meetings (all staff, pre and post service and/or line-up sessions)
• Performing set-up and breakdown tasks for service areas throughout the steakhouse, café and casual dining option, including special member events (such as private parties and gatherings)
• Delivering excellent service to all members and guests upon being seated, ensuring a positive dining experience across all restaurant venues
• Assisting servers by providing water, bread and other items as guests are seated
• Delivering food trays to tables based on designated seat assignments on the ticket, ensuring hot dishes leave the kitchen quickly and match the correct orders, while cleaning any spills or drips for consistent plate presentation
• Setting up, breaking down and maintaining fully stocked display stations for guests, including coffee stations and pastry displays, while also preparing and arranging the card room
• Clearing soiled dishes from tables and transporting them to the dishwashing area, as well as removing used linens, placing them in the drop-off area and replacing them with clean ones
• Setting up tables for the next service by cleaning chairs, replacing linens with fresh ones and arranging silverware, glassware and other items
• Adjusting tables and chairs as necessary for the next member and guest diners
• Completing side tasks, such as polishing silver service items, folding napkins, and preparing bread basket linens
• Keeping the dining areas and service stations clean and well-stocked with supplies needed for efficient service; collecting trash from the dining room and service stations and disposing of it in designated garbage dumpsters
• Refilling ice bins and buckets as necessary
• Cleaning, sanitizing and storing high chairs and booster seats for children in their designated locations
• Assembling and labeling "to-go" orders accurately, ensuring tickets are stapled to bags and delivering packaged orders to the designated pick-up area
• Managing spills, broken service ware and other issues during service with minimal disruption to diners
• Informing supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur
• Following food safety-related requirements as well as all laws, policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages
• Completing other related tasks as assigned

• Experienced in the food service industry, with a focus on fine dining, preferred (minimum of one year)
• Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
• Follows all club guidelines regarding table setting, order taking and service sequence
• Understand and communicate menu items and daily specials effectively
• Detail oriented, friendly and have excellent communication skills
• Recognize occupational hazards and safety precautions, with the ability to follow safety practices
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and maintain high professionalism
• Flexible with working evenings, weekends and holidays
• Comfortable working in hot, humid and/or noisy environment
• Capable of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending and/or reaching for long periods of time; can push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
