Edgewood Surgical Hospital is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary:
As a key member of the finance team, this position will lead the purchasing and inventory function for Edgewood Surgical Hospital. This individual will work closely with leadership and other key staff to plan and implement maximum product standardization and more cost-effective distribution processes within departments throughout the organization. In addition, this position will be responsible for the acquisition, storage and distribution of medical equipment, dispensary supplies and other medical and general supplies or equipment for use by the facility. This position will work with various departments head of the hospital and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications:
· Minimum five (5) years of related work experience and/or training or can be an equivalent combination of education and experience
· Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas of responsibility: purchasing, storeroom management, hospital materials management, central supply, sterile processing and/or any pertinent combination of the areas listed above: preferably in a medical, surgical center hospital, skilled nursing facility, or healthcare services setting
Education:
- High School Diploma (GED)
- Bachelor degree in accounting, supply chain management, finance, or related field – preferred
-Consistently seeks out continuing education activities relevant to practice areas. Attains initial and mandatory training as defined by hospital guidelines.
Preferred Experience and Other Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments; thoroughness; initiative.
-Skilled in the use of hospital computer systems preferred.
-Previous medical supply purchasing preferred.
-Customer Service experience preferred.
-Knowledge of CPSI system preferred.
