What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Learning Assistant (Part-time) position at Edina Kumon?
Kumon is one of the world's leading after school Math and Reading Programs. It allows students of all ages to study way beyond their school grade.
We are looking for a reading assistant to work primarily with students from Pre-K to 1st Grade to develop their Math and Reading skills. This is a part-time position from 3:00-7:30pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Candidates will be fully trained.
Regular Task/Job Duties (Structure)
- Work with up to two students completing their Kumon assignments
- Work with students to read directions on worksheets completed in class
- Monitor students reading level and help guide further reading instructions
- Teach letter recognition and formation, phonics, basic grammar and punctuation
- Help students to develop an understanding of the class routine
- Monitor and maintain student's pace while working on class assignments which helps develop concentration and work skills.
- Communicate information to the instructor regarding student progress or areas that need further development
- Grade student class work and homework in an accurate and timely manner using the answer key provided.
