PRIMARY PURPOSE :
Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment, network and software applications throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certification / Experience :
TEA certification requirements
Associates' degree or minimum 18 semester hours of college credit in computer related field or three years work experience related to maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer equipment
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals including printers, modems and scanners
Ability to install and maintain network media, hardware, and workstations
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Installation :
- Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.
- Install network cabling and network peripherals throughout the district.
- Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
- Install and configure software as needed.
- Install, configure, and maintain library networks.
