Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer with expertise in injection molding to join our engineering team. This individual will lead process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts for both existing and new products. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving quality, consistency, and efficiency on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize injection molding processes using decoupled molding and DOE methods.
- Conduct capability studies, define process control parameters, and set alarm limits.
- Develop and refine processes for new products including tool debugging, validation, and sample runs.
- Support Lean initiatives such as 5S, standard work, and SMED to streamline operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Create and maintain clear, detailed process documentation for training and compliance.
- Collaborate across departments to support production needs, improve part quality, and reduce costs.
- Participate in tool design reviews and make recommendations to ensure manufacturability.
- Oversee validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ), PPAP submissions, and gage R&R studies.
- Monitor tool performance and suggest refurbishment or updates as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors to address equipment or material concerns.
- Serve as a technical mentor to production and engineering staff.
- Interact directly with customers when needed to support sampling, troubleshooting, or project updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in injection molding, preferably with high-performance engineering resins.
- Strong background in process control, DOE, and Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Working knowledge of secondary operations (e.g., machining, assembly, packaging).
- Proficiency in validation protocols and statistical analysis tools (Minitab preferred).
- Familiarity with RJG technology, SolidWorks, Moldflow, and process simulation tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, metrology, and blueprint reading.
- Experience with automation, tooling design for manufacturability, and part inspection (including CT scanning) is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
