Sales Engineer – Billings, MT ($70K - $90K DOE Commission Bonus Car Allowance)
A leading company in the automation industry is looking for a Sales Engineer to cultivate long-term relationships with clients. The successful candidate will provide expert consulting support to architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners regarding building control and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities include estimating costs for control system hardware and installation based on project documentation, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure effective project execution, and delivering presentations and seminars to educate stakeholders in the consulting and contracting sectors. Financial oversight of projects is also a key responsibility.
The client base encompasses various sectors, including data centers, healthcare facilities, government buildings, educational institutions, and more.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is primarily office-based, requiring extensive use of computers and related equipment. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs may be necessary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive sales for plan and specification projects as well as negotiated contracts, including:
- New construction initiatives
- Building retrofits and expansions
- Energy service projects
- Support for architecture and engineering firms
- Assistance with contracting and bidding processes
- Estimation and design collaboration
- Conducting educational presentations and seminars
- Outstanding writing and presentation capabilities
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills for collaborative work
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:
- Full-time position with exempt status
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required
- Local travel is expected, along with limited out-of-state travel
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with building and mechanical systems
- Proven experience in business-to-business sales
- Understanding of DDC control theory and mechanical systems applications
