Reporting directly to the Manager of Design, the Designer II will play a key role in shaping the company's portfolio of commercial and residential projects, including mixed-use and high-end residential properties. These projects will require the application of advanced design techniques to ensure compliance with both company standards and industry-wide regulations and codes. Designer II Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, preferably from an accredited program.5 years prior relevant experience; residential and commercial experience and familiarity with building codes preferred.Preferential consideration for candidates pursuing licensure.Strong project performance skills and ability to stay on time and within budget.Strong client service skills; ability to retain and build client relationships.Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing.Capable of working in both an integrated team and individual design environments.Possess a desire for continuous learning.Travel required to Pittsfield, MA office 2 to 4 times per month following training period.Why You Should Apply :

Actively develops solutions for all project phases under guidance of project leadership.Provide creative and conceptual alignment in choice of building materials, systems, and development details.Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and external consultants.Understand the scope of services as outlined in project contract; identify issues as they arise.Monitor project deadlines and perform work within allotted timeframes; prepare status updates and communicate to leadership and internal clients.Participate in jobsite visits, client meetings, and presentations.Extensive, independent contact with clients, vendors' representatives, and project field personnel.Connect locally with relevant networks to build a network of professional connections; identify potential new clients and share with leadership.Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and provide a high quality of customer service.Assist with new staff training in addition to the development of staff through interactions and informal mentorship.Understand moderate engineering design principles and concepts.Maintain knowledge of all applicable codes, safety requirements, and other standards.About edm
