Overview:
The EHRA Landscape Architecture team is growing. We are looking for creative, talented individuals who love Landscape Architecture and want to create projects in our expanding Texas market. At EHRA, our disciplinaries work together with our clients to create homes, places of business, and outdoor spaces in our communities.
Job Summary:
The Landscape Designer II provides support to the entire landscape team in helping prepare projects for implementation. Experience in drawing production, graphic renderings, project reports, site inspections, collaborative design input, and any other assistance necessary to meet the needs of the department/company are important attributes that will help our growing team.
The Landscape Designer II works jointly with other designers in preparing drawings and documentation on a variety of project types such as master planned communities, visioning and amenities, public parks and trails, and commercial developments. The Landscape Designer II helps develop team standards and provides mentorship to the Landscape Designer I position.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists other Landscape Designers in production of renderings and project plans.
- Project experience through conceptual design, design development and construction documents creation.
- Coordinate assignments and responsibilities in a team oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate the project status and delivery of production to design team and project manager.
- Understand required effort and project timelines to meet project development deadlines.
- Prepare project design drawings including site inventory and analysis, graphic design, and project detailing.
- Prepare project design presentation documents and exhibits that include concept imagery, clearly communicated design through hand sketched and digitally rendered graphics, and design intent narratives.
- Efficiency in using software to generate AutoCAD-based plans, and details.
- Effectively research codes, ordinances, and regulations, and apply them to project design solutions.
- Prepare graphic representations of proposed plans using illustration software such as Photoshop, InDesign.
- Prepare and participate in project and design meetings with team and project manager.
- Apply knowledge of trees, shrubs, ground covers, perennials, and turf grasses in preparing planting plans appropriate to the project locale.
- Work collaboratively with integrated teams of professionals that include civil engineers, architects, planners and surveyors to prepare effective and creative design solutions.
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Visit construction sites and participate in field observations and meetings to support project team members during the construction phase.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to adapt and support Project Managers, Landscape Architects, and Engineers on a wide variety of project tasks.
- Efficient use of time and resources to provide quality design solutions and accurate project data.
- Ability to problem solve and develop solutions for design and development of details.
- Continue on the job training and outside seminars to further professional growth.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- May attend meetings outside of the office with clients, contractors, or other consultants involved in project planning, design, or construction.
- Periodic exposure to outdoor environment is to be expected through site/field visits. Exposures may include but are not limited to hot/cold temperatures, rain, sun. Outdoor physical demands may include but are not limited to walking distances up to several miles, navigating uneven slopes/terrain and/or heavily vegetated/wooded areas.
Education, certification and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture.
- 2-4 years of professional experience
- Computer skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS.
- Technical knowledge of landscape architecture site development elements.

- May require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
- The team member may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus when using graphic design software.
