Job Goal:
The Digital Content Specialist will be responsible for creating a variety of high quality and engaging content for use across a variety of digital platforms to proactively and continuously improve connections within the school community at the local, state and national levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate graphic design for district and school sites.
2. Develop digital content including graphic design, video, photography and other interactive content to support Edmond Public Schools digital communications platforms and aid in parent and community understanding of district programs, initiatives and services as well as staff recruitment and retention.
3. Research, write and create content for Edmond Public Schools social media platforms to proactively share the district’s story, increasing engagement and reach.
4. Research, write, and/or create content for Edmond Public Schools website and separate school websites.
5. Proactively monitor district and school websites to help ensure information is updated, accurate, and ensures all online content adheres to the district’s visual identity, as well as ADA standards.
6. Assist in training of and troubleshooting for site Communications Repss and produce/edit training materials to support site webmasters.
7. Create, edit and assist with content for regular district newsletter for distribution to staff and broader EPS community.
8. Coordinate district-wide and school-specific branding to ensure consistency across all sites and platforms.
9. Create and maintain district events calendar.
10. Assist in planning and promoting of district and school events, including graphics, posting online and media coverage.
11. Coordinate district printed materials through collaboration with the Print Shop and outside vendors.
12. Develop and maintain district templates for Google and Microsoft applications, as well as other software platforms as needed.
13. Assist with Open Records Requests.
14. Assist with preparation of district presentations, both internally and externally.
15. Assist with preparation of district events such as Convocation, Career Fairs, etc.
16. Assist with standard and emergency parent notifications and identify vendors, trends and insights for emergency notifications, and recommend areas for improvement.
17. Serve on committees as assigned.
18. Perform all tasks with sensitivity, confidentiality and professionalism.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Length of Contract : Two hundred and forty days (240) Contract Days
EVALUATION : The performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Communications in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in graphic design, journalism, marketing, public relations, communications or related field.
Previous Experience: 1-3 years work-related experience is required.
Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines.
