DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College is seeking a Horticulture Full-time Tenure Faculty member.
This position is enabled by the Our Colleges, Our Future Act of 2021 to guarantee equitable access and educational success for all, particularly for students from communities of color and low-income communities. The college seeks faculty who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, can adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can employ student-centered approaches and instructional technology effectively, and work collaboratively with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, inclusion, and student learning and success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor¿s degree in Horticulture OR a related field.
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience in Horticulture at the undergraduate level equivalent to at least one academic year.
- Two years of recent work experience in the horticulture industry.
- Excellent speaking, writing, listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical techniques, active learning, and student-centered learning for students of different abilities and at different levels of preparedness.
- Evidence of ability to use technologies, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, email, and learning management systems, and ability to incorporate and assess the efficacy of new technologies in workflow, instruction, assessment, and daily practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and respect for a diverse community college environment comprised of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty are required to frequently use a computer and other technology in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education. The current range is $85,958.16 - $87,367.71 annually for a 172-day appointment, with contractually guided increases to $104,266.14 annually. The college provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
