DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College is seeking an Information Technology Application Development Tenure Track Faculty member for the Bachelor of Applied Science program.
This position is enabled by the Our Colleges, Our Future Act of 2021 to guarantee equitable access and educational success for all, particularly for students from communities of color and low-income communities. The college seeks faculty who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, can adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can employ student-centered approaches and instructional technology effectively, and can work collaboratively with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, inclusion, and student learning and success.
The teaching load for this position will include coursework in the Application Development (AD) program such as: ITAD 300, Software Engineering; ITAD 315, Discrete Math; ITAD 330, Database Models and Design; ITAD 345, Usability Engineering; ITAD 360, Application and Data Integration; ITAD 375, Cloud Computing; ITAD 400 Mobile Application Development; ITAD 415, Intro to Machine Learning; ITAD 430 Embedded Systems; ITAD 445, Emerging Trends, ITAD 460, Capstone I; and ITAD 470 Capstone II. This instructor may also teach core courses in the two-year computer information systems degrees as needed. Candidates with an interest and/or experience in developing programs focusing on growing the IT workforce pipeline, increasing diversity, and minimizing the equity gap within the IT community are especially encouraged to apply.
In this role, the selectee will be responsible for revising and maintaining an inclusive and equitable curriculum, creating and developing new certificate and program options, preparing teaching materials, developing and assessing learning outcomes to evaluate student work, assigning grades, maintaining required records, and advising and consulting with students. Other essential responsibilities include department head duties; participating in achieving the college¿s mission and goals; upholding the college¿s values; college governance via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities (including employee orientation and college compliance training); and personal and program evaluation. The teaching assignment may include early morning, late afternoon, evening, weekend, and/or online and hybrid classes. This tenure-track position reports to the Dean of Business and Continuing Education. It has an anticipated start date in September 2025 and will have a 9-month service period.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master¿s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Application Development, or a related discipline emphasizing application development.
- Three years of application development experience.
- One year of documented teaching or training experience.
- Excellent verbal, problem-solving, critical thinking, writing, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and respect for a diverse community college environment comprised of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
