What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOW VOLT TECH position at EDMONSON ELECTRIC LLC?
Job Summary:
Installation, termination of low voltage throughout new construction homes.
- Installing and terminating RG-6, CAT 5, and CAT 6A.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ensuring all installs are done in a neat and workmanlike manner, safely, to builder specifications and current NEC code.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installing and terminating wiring for low voltage equipment in new home construction
- Installing WAP’s (wireless access points), ring doorbells, standard doorbells, low voltage chimes etc.
- Troubleshooting problems with low voltage equipment used in new home construction. i.e. security cameras, video doorbells, security systems, wireless equipment
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Accuracy with measurements
- Ability to scale prints and properly read prints
- Ability to multi-task
- Critical thinking skills
- Low voltage knowledge especially pertaining to CAT 5, CAT 6A and cable connections.
- Basic Home Automation
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to use hand and power tools for extended periods of time.
- Must have clean driving record.
- At least one year of field experience
