Job Overview:
The Infant Toddler and Family Specialist/Parent Coach works closely with individual families and their Service Coordinators in the Winston-Salem Child Developmental Services Agency (CDSAs) to provide specialized instruction (developmental play therapy) to children birth- three who have disabilities or delays, while engaging with them in their natural environment (home or childcare setting).and coaching their parents in areas they have identified as concerning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Coach parents, and sometimes childcare teachers in strategies that benefit the child's development
• Take an online training initially, and observe one-three sessions of another of our therapists
• Serve a case load of one to four families to start, and up to 15 families
• Travel to visit each family or child care setting weekly for one hour each week
• Plan sessions that consider each family’s IFSP outcomes and information, and align with child's interests and abilities
• Implement effective and developmentally appropriate practices that match child outcomes, interests, and needs
• Keep session notes and write well written but brief monthly summaries
• Communicate regularly with the service coordinator for each family
• Attend free face to face or online training for 10 contact hours per year to maintain ITFS certification
• Maintain confidentiality

- Experience: At least one year of related experience with families and their children birth through age four, including children with disabilities (three or more preferred) providing coaching to parents, and/or instruction to children
- References: Three references (employers/former instructors)
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $30.00 to $32.00 /hour mileage reimbursements for travel to clusters of families if over 20 miles away from your home
Salary : $30 - $32
