Title: Business Services Representative
Classification: Non-Exempt
Scope of Position
To identify and contact prospective employers for PA CareerLink® services and other services offered by the local workforce board and to refer suitable program participants for position openings and act as a liaison between participants and employers
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Generate employer job postings and enter them into the state PA CareerLink® system/website; perform applicant search/match and regularly review list of applicant candidates; follow-up with employers to obtain hire information and record it in the system of record
- Contact employers by phone or in person and establish working relationships; interact with personnel and/or manager responsible for the hiring of new employees
- Solicit job openings from employers and share information about openings with program staff, partner agencies and jobseekers
- Review job seeker employment skills and match with open positions
- Enter employer information and services into all appropriate databases
- Meet with jobseekers to discuss open positions and document all contacts in case notes
- Represent the PA CareerLink® and/or local workforce board at outreach events
- Complete On-the-Job Training (OJT), Incumbent Worker Training (IWT), and any other training-funded contracts/agreements between the employer and workforce board.
- Determine WIOA eligibility and complete WIOA applications on potential OJT participants
- Enter participant information and services into all appropriate databases
- Communicate and collaborate with other local area BSRs, partners, and program staff
- Network with area business organizations
- Follow up with employers to ensure that placements are satisfactory and to resolve any problems
- Organize job fairs and hiring events
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Should have 1-3 years of sales experience
- Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Should have skills and experience in providing career development assistance
- Should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
- Bachelor's Degree in business, education, human resources, or related area is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and an automobile are required
