Position Description

Edson Marine, located in New Bedford, Mass, is a leading manufacturer of marine steering systems, pumps, and other marine accessories. We are looking for a forward thinking person to join our materials team. This person will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and warehousing in our New Bedford plant.

We are trying to fill our manufacturing team with contributors who have a desire to learn, a great attitude, an interest to be in a flexible, team-oriented environment, and the discipline to maintain top-quality work.

The primary duties of this position will include packaging and shipping of outgoing products, and receiving and warehousing incoming products. Other responsibilities will include moving materials, inventory control and counts, and some local pick-up and delivery runs.

Edson is a small business where everyone contributes to making sure our customers receive the highest level of products and service, the successful candidate will often be the last person to see a product before it is received by our customers. This carries a large responsibility to be the “last QC check” of an Edson product.

Specific position responsibilities

· Package and shipping products

· Receiving shipments and stocking those shipments in warehouse

· Utilization of ERP system for receiving

· Utilization of various shipping systems for daily shipping management

· Stock pick-up at local vendors using company truck

· Warehouse/stockroom organization

· Inventory control projects including cycle counting and periodic inventory counts

· Shipping supply management and ordering

· Other duties as deemed necessary

Candidate characteristics, skills, and experience

· Experience with shipping and receiving software tools for LTL, UPS, FEDEX, and other shipping methods

· Experience packaging goods for shipment

· Ability to make decisions based on cost and performance

· Experience receiving products and using an ERP system

· Warehouse experience

· Ability and desire to be a positive influence within our company

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

· Valid drivers license and clean driving history

· Sense of urgency

· Enthusiastic personality, high energy

· Creative thinker

· Positive attitude

· Willing to put in effort to satisfy the customer

· Ability to lift 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
