Job Summary

The Summer Camp Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in facilitating camp activities, supervising campers, and ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging summer experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering educational and recreational activities.
• Supervise campers during activities, field trips, and free time to ensure safety and participation.
• Help manage group behavior, providing positive reinforcement and support as needed.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning up activities, ensuring a well-maintained camp environment.
• Engage with campers, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and social development.
• Provide first aid and basic care when needed and report any safety concerns to leadership staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff about camper experiences and needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years old
• Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is a plus.
• Energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic with a passion for working with kids.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
• Must be able to pass background check

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.49 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
