Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Maintenance Tech Apprentice to its team. This role will work onsite in Chicopee, MA and works Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm. This role starts as a 5-month contract role that pays $24.80 per hour. The ideal candidate will have HVAC and Mechanical knowledge and will be very eager to learn. Upon conversion this role offers increased compensation,an annual bonus plan, and a strong benefit package. As a Maintenance Technical Apprentice, you will develop on the job skills to maintain buildings, industrial systems, and equipment on an ongoing basis by conducting routine preventive maintenance inspections, diagnosing potential problems, and making repairs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine building maintenance to ensure facilities are clean, functional, and safe.
- Escort and monitor vendors and contractors while on-site to ensure compliance with building protocols and safety procedures.
- Conduct basic HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance to support climate control and comfort within the facility.
- Complete minor painting projects, including surface preparation and touch-ups, to maintain building aesthetics.
- Repair and patch walls and other surfaces as needed to maintain structural integrity and appearance.
- Install and hang items such as signage, artwork, shelves, and other fixtures in accordance with specifications.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs as needed.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer knowledge
- Microsoft Outlook skills with the ability to follow up
- Self-starter, eager to learn, and good customer service skills
