POSITION: Accountant I
Who are we?
Education-Plus, Inc. d/b/a Education Plus Health in Pennsylvania (EPH or the Organization) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that improves education and health outcomes and disseminates innovations and best practices. The Organization supports children and families by providing access to high-quality health care and health education to low-income students in their schools in pursuit of greater health equity, and education enrichment opportunities to improve health, academic, and life outcomes. Education-Plus, Inc. engages in scaling and replication of high impact models, consulting and technical assistance to other organizations.
Understanding that education and health outcomes are closely interrelated, our model supports the whole student from elementary school through high school and beyond school-based health care paired with our afterschool enrichment programs and post-secondary educational opportunities in two schools for improved academic and health outcomes. Education Plus Health is committed to improving access to high quality healthcare and driving better educational outcomes for underserved communities. The school-based health centers provide two models of primary care, one embedded within school nursing, both delivered by licensed and certified nurse practitioners in the school environment.
Education Plus Health is the emerging Pennsylvania affiliate of the national School-Based Health Alliance, the voice for school-based health care since 1995. Working together with the support of the Alliance, Education Plus Health advocates for Pennsylvania policies that enable the growth of school-based health centers across the state.

What does this role entail?
Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Accountant I is responsible for the following:
Accounting
· Generation and recording of Journal Entries process into Accounting System (AS).
· Record vendors’ bills processing include manage relationship with vendors such as payment plans, gathering of support documentation, credits, Tax exemption, contracts, etc.
· Record all cash account transactions into the AS weekly after approval and reconcile statements monthly, including credit card system.
· Update month-end working documents and reconciliation schedules while ensuring all accounts are timely and properly reconciled.
· Maintain cash flow projections
· Generate proper accrual transactions at Month-end and Year-end
· Ensure all transactions are supported by budget and Support Documentation in the AS
· Assist with month-end activities as needed.
Payroll
· Prepare and reconcile payroll including entering into AS bi-weekly per grant allocations
· Assist with any task pertaining to the processing of payroll as needed.
Invoicing
· Ensure understanding of all grants, contracts, and generating revenue documents.
· Prepare and send all grantors and contractors’ invoices and enter them into the AS
· Maintain a relationship with assigned customers and grantors (such as payment plans, late fees, collections).
· Prepare projections for each grant ensuring all funds will be spent according to grants/contract stipulations
· Prepare and send budget revisions when necessary.
Fiscal Support
· Maintain proper E-Filing of all records in AS and in Drop box.
· Enter budget per program/grant assigned into AS.
· Assist with the creation of reports in AS.
· Maintain all records to comply with Procurement stipulations.
· Generate and reconcile 1099 forms and send them to recipients.
· Assist with annual audit and the implementation of GAAP regulations.
· Assist with Year-Ending activities.
· Ensure application of Internal Controls in all functions.
· Assist with any project required to meet Fiscal responsibilities.
Financial Analysis
· Assist in all quality and accuracy controls to the AS.
· Build Insurance providers data tables, analyze financial reports, reconcile medical data bank accounts in system, and report to Data Analysis team.
Human Resources administration
Requesting new and updated clearances, fingerprints, etc. in the new database on an ongoing basis.

Education, Experience, Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, OR equivalent experience (required)
- 5 years GAAP accounting experience in accounting (required)
- Non-profit account experience (strongly preferred)
- 2 years QBO experience (strongly preferred)
